Check Scofield Court Docket

To look up a Scofield court docket, start with the court that actually received the case. Scofield itself has no stand-alone city database for this. Lower-level matters run through the shared justice court system, while serious criminal cases and broad civil disputes go to the district court. The practical path is simple. Identify the likely level, search Utah's public case-information system, and confirm any hearing with the clerk. A Scofield court docket can show settings, filings, charges, parties, and outcomes, but it never replaces the court's certified file.

Scofield Is Absent From Service List

The Carbon County Justice Court service list names Carbon County, Price, Helper, and Wellington. Scofield is not on it by name. A Scofield matter may still be assigned there. But check the court printed on the citation and the Xchange location to confirm. The point is administrative. A Scofield event can produce a Carbon County Justice Court record without any separate Scofield City court database.

That makes the court-location field decisive. Don't toss a result just because the heading reads Carbon County rather than Scofield City. Match the party or citation, case type, filing date, and court location. When those facts line up, open the chronological Proceedings section. If anything stays uncertain, ask the justice court clerk, not a city department.

The Scofield Municipal Court

Scofield's official pages name no independent Scofield Municipal Court. They list no Scofield-specific judge, calendar, or docket portal either. Verify the traffic or ordinance venue from the citation before leaning on the county calendar. The justice court sits at 751 E 100 N, Suite 1600, Price, UT 84501. It is reachable at 435-636-3289. Judge Jon Carpenter is listed for that court.

Its jurisdiction covers class B and C misdemeanors, infractions, and traffic violations. County or city ordinance cases and qualifying small claims also fall there. Not every case arising inside Scofield lands there, though. Felonies, class A misdemeanors, and general-jurisdiction civil, domestic, probate, and property matters belong to the Utah District Court in the Seventh Judicial District. Juvenile cases go to the Juvenile Court and usually do not appear in public Xchange.

Scofield City Hall Is Not Court

Scofield City Hall sits at 20 N Union St., but that civic address is not the state-court records counter. City Hall handles municipal government. The justice case record stays with the Carbon County Justice Court clerk, and district case histories sit with the Price District Court Clerk. Knowing that split saves a wasted trip.

Use the record's owner. Ask the justice court for a Scofield ticket or lower-level case file. Ask the district clerk for a felony, class A misdemeanor, divorce, probate, or general civil file. Use City Hall only for municipal administrative records.

Carbon County's elected Clerk/Auditor is a separate office from both court clerks. A GRAMA request to that office can reach county administrative material. It is not the ordinary route to a state court case history, judgment, or certified order.

Scofield Court Dates and Settings

Read the latest Proceedings entry in Xchange first. Then compare it with the Carbon Justice Court calendar instructions. County guidance says hearings may happen in person or by video. A Webex link can appear within 24 hours of the hearing. Participants should join 15 minutes early. Several cases can share one time slot. So a wait after joining does not mean you missed the setting.

DateThe docketed day of the Scofield hearing; check the newest entry for a reset.
TimeThe listed call time, which other cases may share.
Court LocationCarbon Justice Court or Price District Court, as shown in the result.
JudgeThe assigned judicial officer shown in case information.
Setting TypeFirst appearance, pretrial, trial, review, or another proceeding label.

If the Webex link or location is unclear, call the justice clerk at 435-636-3289. District matters go to the Price District Court contact at 435-264-4640. A quick verbal confirmation near the hearing date beats an older notice after a continuance.

Scofield Remote Clerk Fallback

Scofield's small population and mountain geography make the clerk fallback especially important. Public searching is still statewide. The town has no courthouse or separate court counter of its own. If venue is Carbon County Justice Court or District Court, the clerk and courthouse you need are in Price.

The venue name still matters. District and juvenile files answer to different clerks with different access rules. The justice court occupies its documented suite at the county complex. Xchange may search more than one jurisdiction. But its Court Location and Case Type columns keep the distinction clear. Use those fields before calling, paying, or requesting copies.

Scofield Traffic Tickets

Start with the citation itself. The court name and appearance instructions printed on a Scofield ticket tell you where to look. Read them before picking a search scope. In Xchange, select Justice Court. Type the citation number and citation location, set a Carbon scope, and consider case type TN for a traffic citation. The result can show the charge, plea, proceedings, hearing, disposition, and accounting. Note that the violation date can differ from the filing date.

Some qualifying Carbon Justice Court tickets enter Deferred Traffic Prosecution or traffic Online Dispute Resolution. Utah Courts advises allowing at least five days for the citation to enter the system. A 21-day enrollment deadline applies to deferred prosecution. Confirm eligibility in MyCourtCase. For the full county process, see Carbon County traffic court records. Paying the ticket does not erase the need to verify whether an appearance remains set.

Scofield Citation Location Field

Utah's system labels the Scofield court docket Case History or Extended Case History. The Proceedings list is the chronological docket. Filings, hearings, minute entries, dispositions, and other events all appear in date order. The header carries court, case number, type, filing date, caption, and assigned judge. Party codes like PLA and DEF simply mean plaintiff and defendant.

TN
Traffic citation case type.
SC
Small-claims case type.
Proceedings
The dated sequence of court events and minute entries.
Disposition
The recorded result of a charge or case.

Accounting may show fines, fees, sums paid, and a balance. A public document link means an electronic image can be bought for $1, though not every filing has an image. Public case history is useful for tracking a matter. It is not a certified record.

Where Scofield Cases End Up

The path depends on offense level and case type. Scofield-linked traffic, infractions, ordinances, lower misdemeanors, and small claims require venue confirmation. Those matters may go through Carbon County Justice Court. Felonies, class A misdemeanors, and broad civil, domestic, probate, and property disputes begin in the Seventh District Court. A small-claims trial de novo means a fresh district-court trial after appeal. That appeal creates a district case.

Docket flow: Scofield city matter › Carbon County Justice Court › Utah District Court (Seventh Judicial District)

This line describes possible movement. It is not a claim that each case passes through all three points. Some Scofield matters end in Justice Court once venue is confirmed. Others begin in District Court and never have a city or justice record. The Carbon County court docket overview explains the county-wide court split in more depth.

Scofield Population of Twenty-Six

The 2020 Census incorporated-place table counted 26 residents in Scofield. County sources still identify Scofield Town, and county GIS maps an incorporated boundary. With a population that small and a mountain setting, phone and clerk fallbacks matter more whenever a portal location label is unclear.

Scofield has no separate municipal judge or caseload report. Do not substitute county totals for city figures. Read the citation, search both court scopes when needed, and confirm venue before relying on the Carbon calendar.

Public Access to Scofield Court Records

Utah court records are classified under court rules. There is no presumption that every filing is visible. Public Scofield case information can be searched through Xchange. A courthouse public terminal may provide free Xchange access. The clerk can supply paper or certified copies. When a document is missing online, submit the written Utah Request for a Record to the Scofield court that holds the file.

Key rules:

UCJA Rule 4-202.02 classifies court records as public, private, protected, sealed, or another controlled class.

UCJA Rule 4-202.03 defines who may access public and restricted court records.

UCJA Rule 4-202.06 governs responses to court-record requests.

Sealed, expunged, juvenile, and some private domestic material will not appear in an ordinary public search. Older justice data may also be incomplete after conversion. A no-match result therefore calls for a spelling check, a broader jurisdiction search, and clerk follow-up, not a firm conclusion that no case exists.

Scofield Fees Are Not City Fees

Xchange is designed for public case information. A certified copy is different: an official court copy bearing the clerk's certification. If a Scofield filing, order, or judgment must be presented as an official record, identify the correct court from Xchange. Then ask that clerk about certification. Downloading a $1 public document image does not turn it into a certified copy.

The fallback chain is broad. Search Xchange first. Use MyCourtCase when you are a party. Inspect at an available courthouse terminal, call or visit the correct clerk, and submit the written record-request form. Utah's official request page says responses usually come within ten business days. Staff time and payment arrangements can affect delivery. Historical material more than 50 years old may instead be held by Utah State Archives.

Venue controls Scofield routing. The county Justice Court service sentence omits Scofield. No separate town court page, judge page, payment portal, calendar, or caseload report exists. The address at 20 N Union Street appears as Scofield City Hall, not a court counter. If a citation names Carbon County Justice Court, call 435-636-3289. If it names District Court, call the Price clerk at 435-264-4640.

Never treat county charges as a Scofield fine schedule. Documented Utah court copy fees include $0.25 per sheet for a plain copy and $4 per certified document plus $0.50 per page. An available Xchange image costs $1. No exact Scofield traffic fine is published. Verify venue, then use the Utah Uniform Fine Schedule or ask the assigned court.
